# Business Profile: Keep Your Company Details Up to Date

> Manage your business name, address, contact info, service area, and logo in Zela so your AI agent always has accurate information.

Your business profile is the foundation of everything Zela knows about your company. When customers call in and ask where you're located, what areas you cover, or how to reach you, your AI agent draws directly from this information to give accurate, confident answers. Keeping your profile complete and current means your agent always represents your business correctly — from the very first word of the greeting to the details it shares at the end of a call.

## Profile Fields

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Business Name">
    The official name of your business as you'd like it presented to customers. This is used in your agent's opening greeting (e.g., *"Thanks for calling Riverside Plumbing…"*) and appears in all call transcripts and booking confirmations. Make sure it matches how customers know you.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Business Type / Industry">
    Select the category that best describes what your business does — for example, Plumbing, Electrical, Landscaping, Cleaning, HVAC, or Pest Control. This helps Zela contextualise conversations and apply the right defaults when setting up your agent.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Phone Number">
    Your real business phone number — not your Zela number. This is the number Zela may share with customers who ask for a direct contact, and it appears on booking-related communications. Enter the number in full international format where possible (e.g., +1 555 000 1234).
  </Accordion>

  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Service Area">
    Define the geographic area your business serves. You can specify a city or suburb with a radius (e.g., "within 25 miles of downtown Austin") or list specific suburbs, cities, or postcodes you cover. Your agent uses this to tell callers whether you serve their location before booking an appointment.
  </Accordion>

## How Profile Information Is Used

Your agent actively references your business profile during live calls. Here are some common examples of how that information surfaces:

<CardGroup cols={2}>
  <Card title="Location Questions" icon="map-pin" href="/agent/call-handling">
    When a caller asks *"Where are you based?"* or *"Do you serve my area?"*, the agent draws from your physical address and service area to give a precise, accurate answer.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Agent Greetings" icon="phone" href="/agent/configuration">
    Your business name is woven into the agent's opening line every time a call is answered, giving callers an immediate sense of who they've reached.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Booking Confirmations" icon="calendar-check" href="/dashboard/bookings">
    Your phone number, email, and business name appear on confirmation messages sent to customers after a booking is made.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Out-of-Area Calls" icon="circle-xmark" href="/agent/call-handling">
    If a caller is outside your defined service area, the agent politely lets them know rather than booking a job you won't be able to fulfil.
  </Card>
</CardGroup>

<Tip>
  Keep your service area accurate — if a caller is outside your area, Zela can politely let them know rather than booking an appointment you can't fulfil.
</Tip>

<Warning>
  Your business name appears in your agent's greeting. After changing it, make a test call to confirm the greeting sounds correct and the pronunciation is natural.
