User Roles
Zela has three roles, each designed for a different level of responsibility within your business.Owner
Full access to every part of Zela — including all business settings, agent configuration, call logs, bookings, team management, and billing. There is one Owner per account. Ownership can be transferred but not duplicated.
Manager
Can view and manage bookings, call logs, agent settings, and the business profile. Managers can also edit services and team member details. They cannot access billing information, change subscription plans, or invite new team members. Suitable for office managers or senior staff.
Viewer
Read-only access to bookings and call logs. Viewers cannot make any changes to settings, services, or agent configuration. Suitable for staff who need visibility of the schedule without being able to modify anything.
Only the account Owner can manage billing and change subscription plans. If you need to update payment details or upgrade your plan, you must be logged in as the Owner.
Inviting a Team Member
1
Open the Team Page
In your Zela dashboard, go to Business in the left-hand sidebar, then select Team.
2
Start an Invitation
Click Invite Member in the top-right corner of the Team page.
3
Enter Their Email Address
Type the email address of the person you’d like to invite. Make sure it’s the address they’ll use to log in to Zela.
4
Select Their Role
Use the Role dropdown to assign them as a Manager or Viewer. You cannot invite someone as an Owner — ownership must be transferred separately.
5
Send the Invite
Click Send Invite. Zela will immediately email the invitation to the address you entered.
6
They Create Their Account
Your team member will receive an email with a link to create their Zela account and set a password. Once they complete sign-up, they’ll have access to your dashboard with the role you assigned. The invitation link expires after 72 hours — if it lapses, simply send a new one.
Changing a Member’s Role
If a team member’s responsibilities change, you can update their role at any time without removing and re-inviting them.1
Go to Business > Team
Navigate to the Team page from the left-hand sidebar.
2
Open the Member's Settings
Find the team member in the list and click the ⋯ menu to the right of their name, then select Edit Role.
3
Select the New Role
Choose the updated role from the dropdown — Manager or Viewer.
4
Save the Change
Click Save. The change takes effect immediately — the next time they load the dashboard, they’ll see the updated permissions.
Removing a Team Member
If someone leaves your business or no longer needs access, you can revoke their access from the Team page.1

2
Find the Team Member
Locate the person you want to remove in the team list.
3
Remove Their Access
